Crying is one of the languages used the baby before they could talk. But when the baby is crying too often alias fussy, parents inevitably had to think of a way to calm her down. Roughly, where is the most effective way?

In a study just published in the journal of Infancy, researchers from the University of Montreal in Canada did a study of 30 infants age 6 to 9 months. When babies cry, researchers asked women to be behind the baby, so there is no direct contact with the parents. The environment around the baby ever purged of any stimuli that could attract the attention of the baby. After that, researchers gave two options how to relieve a baby's cry.

The first is to invite baby talk, like reciting the story or brief dialogue used parents when their baby was fussy. Second, the researchers listened to the song with the lyrics. As a result, a song or a mix of dialogue and music is twice as effective at calming babies than just talking to the baby.

When the babies were given the song, they proved to be more quiet and quick stop crying for 9 minutes. The babies were given only the dialogue, requiring a longer time to stop crying. After successfully tranquilized, conditions that last only 4 minutes.

The researchers consider this discovery quite important, especially for mothers in Europe that more baby talk rather than invited to sing. Or Asian moms who prefer holding a baby without removing the vote. In the future, so that the mother can start singing when their children are fussy to provide peace alone for infants, especially babies under age 1 year.

"This finding speaks about the importance of music and lyrics for the baby. The simplicity of the music and the repetition of lyrics enough grab their attention, "says study author Isabelle Peretz.
